Based on Kripalu Yoga, a form of Hatha yoga, this style of yoga is accessible for any body.
This is a mindful practice that will leave you feeling both rejuvenated and tranquil. While there are many physical benefits the focus here is on your whole Self: mind, body, breath and spirit.
You will develop:
- A more loving relationship with your physical body
- The ability to slow down and simply be in the moment
- More awareness of the breath and how to use it to uplift and/or relax
- Compassion and gentleness toward yourself and others
- Deeper self awareness
- The ability to direct the mind (rather than it directing you!)

Wilde Cat Cottage Fundraiser

Personal and group session
I go to the gym for fitness, but I come to Shawna to refill my spirit. Recently while I was taking a yoga class in Bali I realised how lucky I am. I don’t have to travel all the way to Bali to connect back to myself. I just travel down the road to Shawna’s class and I am taken right back to my centre.

I had never been to yoga before, but I thought it was something I could use to calm my busy mind. I’m always on the go after years of taking care of others. After I left Shawna’s class I could feel how tired my body was from all that busyness. I also felt such calm. So much so that I thought “this is something I really need to commit to doing for myself!
Breathing space: expansion through sacred breath

This workshop is designed to guide you inward, reconnecting you with your own sacredness.
We use props so the body feels safe in supportive yoga postures and then we tap into the power of breathwork to come into an expansive state of being where you can more easily access your spiritual essence.
This is where healing occurs and inner-wisdom is awakened.
Some practical results are:
• deep physical release
• increased emotional awareness
• letting go of long-held emotional and/or energetic tension
Which leads to…
• a profound sense of peace and tranquility
• a feeling of lightness and freedom
• subsequent increased physical energy
• insights and self-reflections leading to more clarity
• feeling connected to the Greater Whole, Source-Energy, Love
We’ll end with chai and chat to ground in afterwards through sweet treats and good company.

I feel much more clear minded. I was able to connect with the joy and excitement that is happening in my life right now.
Once I allowed myself to be fully there [in the posture] the tears came. I realised how much I’d disconnected myself from my feminine side for many reasons. I’ve almost shut that side of myself down and pretended it wasn’t part of me. Even writing this is bringing up tears but they’re tears of gratitude from some part of me that is happy it’s been acknowledged and now has the opportunity for reconnection.
I woke up this morning feeling different – like a heavy fog has lifted and the sun is out again. I wanted to do things to take care of myself. I wanted to do things that further connect me to source. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I wasn’t sure what to expect from yesterday but I got exactly what I needed.
I felt happy and safe. I reconnected with my child Self who has been hiding and scared. I am now feeling a sense of emotional freedom. Thank you!
I loved the class yesterday. You held the space and guided us beautifully. My 7yr old told me how wonderful my energy felt and that he wanted to stay close to me because I felt so good.
Today I feel present, still and grounded in my body in a way I haven’t felt before. Even my chiro noticed the change in my body this morning. Thanks again for a wonderful experience and I look forward to more sessions in the future!
